This is great for a lot of different types of parties. To give the illusion of helium balloons (without the cost) you can blow the balloons up, tie a ribbon on the end (curling ribbon works great when you curl it), stick a little bit of masking tape to the top of the balloon and stick it to the ceilings. Be sure that the masking tape does not ruin your ceilings décor. You can buy tape that will not stick or rip your wall coverings or paint.
Another neat idea that we just did for my son’s birthday is a streamer (the kind that you would see people throwing from the ship on the Love Boat) and balloon theme. I did not tie ribbon to the end of the balloons, instead I got ribbon the same color as the ceiling and taped it to a different area of each balloon. I then took the other end of the ribbon (not curled) and taped it to the ceiling. It gave a cool effect of balloon falling from the sky. Then I took some prismatic curling ribbon and cut them into different lengths. Lastly I taped them to the ceiling being sure not to have the same colors to close to each other. The busier areas of the room would get the shorter ribbons and the “dead” areas of the room would get the longer ones. After I was done it looked as if someone was dropping streamers and balloons from above. My son, family and friends loved the effect. |
