Tips & Tricks
Ice Breaking Place Cards\
If you have a party that not everyone know each other (wedding, charity event, thank you dinner, military ball, anniversary dinner, etc) and you are assigning seats you can add a little something to the back of the place cards to get people talking. Just be sure to have at least 10 (would be great if you had more) different things, one on each card. I do this often and it works wonders. Let me give you some examples. At a…
[list:f264c1374d]1. Wedding – Add small facts about the couple before and after they got together.
[list:f264c1374d]a. Where they have worked in the past and where they currently work.
b. When the couple met.
c. How long they dated.
d. When they got engaged.
e. The college each went to. [/list:u:f264c1374d]
2. Charity Event – Add some facts about the organization.
[list:f264c1374d]a. How much they have received recently.
b. What they do with the money.
c. How the charity started.
d. Famous people involved with (or supporting) the charity [/list:u:f264c1374d]

3. Thank You Dinner – Add some facts about the people.
[list:f264c1374d]a. Some of the hours people have put into helping.
b. The work the people did.
c. Personal facts about the people (kids, married, working, etc) [/list:u:f264c1374d]

4. Military Ball – Add facts about the service or popular saying for the service.
[list:f264c1374d]a. Facts about the service.
[list:f264c1374d]i. When it started.
ii. The amount of people in when it started, over the years, and currently.
iii. Some of the things it does. [/list:u:f264c1374d]
b. Popular saying about the service.
[list:f264c1374d]i. Marines (Semper Fidelis, etc)
ii. Army (Army of One, etc)
iii. Navy (Squids, etc)
iv. Air Force (Fly Boy, etc) [/list:u:f264c1374d][/list:u:f264c1374d]

5. Anniversary Dinner – Add facts about the couple while they were together.
[list:f264c1374d]a. When they got married.
b. Places they have lived
c. How many kids they have had.
d. Places they have worked.
e. Places they have vacationed.[/list:u:f264c1374d] [/list:u:f264c1374d]
I hope you get the idea. The more interesting the facts the better it will go off. It only takes one bored person to look on the back of the card (be honest how often have you done that). They ask the person next to them about their card and suddenly the whole table is talking.
